This Is Why You Should Always Wear a Sleeping Mask to Bed
It’s called “beauty” sleep for a reason!
If you’re not yet in the habit of wearing a sleeping mask every night as you hit the sheets, then consider this your official reminder that you need to do so, stat! Eye masks are specifically designed to block out the light and help you fall asleep faster, whether you’re in bed or currently on a long-haul flight to the other side of the world. But apart from obvious reasons, wearing a sleeping mask also offers one more remarkable benefit—preventing wrinkles! The probability of you squinting in your sleep is significantly lessened with an eye mask on, therefore preventing fine lines and unwanted crow’s feet from further developing. Not to mention, it also keeps you from unconsciously rubbing your eye area with your hands!
And now that we’ve established the importance of wearing a sleeping mask, you might want to check out our picks below—because, you know, while you’re at it, you might as well do it in style, right?

Luxury sleepwear and so much more.
Hepburn Pyjama Set, P1950-2150 depending on the additions
Check out @evethelabel_ on Instagram and there you’ll see proof that if your products are good enough, people will buy. The brand offers luxury sleepwear that are so good, you can totally rock them on the streets, too. It has now evolved into a stronger label that also sells swimwear, resorts wear, and even a bridal collection coming soon.
So how exactly does one make a mark in the local market by carving out his/her own niche? Scroll down and read about the story of Eve the Label.
Can you share with us how Eve the Label came to life?
“Our eldest sister, Eve, has always been into fashion. She studied Merchandise Product Development at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in LA. She then had short courses at Parsons in Paris and New York. When she came home, we more or less knew we wanted to start our own clothing line. We knew there was a lack of suppliers in luxury sleepwear in the local market, so we decided to fill in the gap.”
Kate Maxi dress, P3500
Oh, okay! So is it Eve who does the designs for the brand?
“Eve, who the label is named after, is our head designer. But all of our designs have to be approved by all of us before production. We want our designs to reflect each of our own personalities.”
Lana Lace Set, P1750
Where do you get inspiration for your designs?
“Growing up, our mom was obsessed with luxury sleepwear. Everything was silk and because it wasn’t readily available here in Manila, she usually had to get it abroad whenever she traveled. When we first started, we got inspiration from our favorite childhood memories of staying at home with our mom in silk pajamas. As for our resorts wear, our family manages a resort in El Nido. We’ve spent our best vacations there so we wanted it to reflect a sense of fun and yet still be sexy at the same time.”
Delmira Maillot, P2000
Who do you imagine wearing your pieces?
“We envision our clients to be women who are sexy and confident, those who want their clothes to be timeless but with an edge.”
Custom Elvira Robe, P900-P1400
Do you customize?
“Yes, we do customize. It’s important to us that our clients look and feel great in our clothes. That goes with the understanding that not all body types are the same so we accept custom orders in order to get the best fit for our clients.”
What can we look forward to from Eve the Label?
“We are actually launching our custom bridal gowns and evening gowns by the end of the year, so please watch out for that!”

How long have you been interested in makeup?
Just last year. Before, I really couldn’t be bothered with even a Chapstick. Marga Buenaventura from Young Star influenced me to watch a bunch of YouTube videos everyday, and then I fell into a black hole of Jaclyn Hill and NikkiTutorials makeup videos. I got interested in trying out the products because I really only started with eyeliner in College, and then I learned to do full makeup from the YouTube videos. I like the process.
How would you describe your relationship with makeup?
This is the first decision I make in the morning and it’s important to take control of the rest of my day. It’s therapeutic for me and it’s also a form of self-expression, but I don’t wear makeup solely because I want to feel good about myself. Looking good is just the bonus. For me, it’s a form of art and therapy.
What do you think are some common misconceptions about women who love using makeup?
People say that we’re maarte or insecure, but they don’t really know what goes on behind it or what our motivations are behind it. We all have different reasons and I think it’s shallow to judge others by the way they look in the first place. Makeup is just another layer that you have to go through to get to know a person. It’s better to just go straight in being interested with the personality and not just the looks.
What’s the hardest part of your makeup routine?
The hardest part is when I try to use liquid lipstick, because there’s so much to do like you line your lips and all. I guess it’s also therapeutic because there are so many steps but just trying to get the lines right is something I can’t do. Maybe I’m just an eye person and I like to blend the colors. Removing liquid lipstick is also difficult like for the Kylie Lipkit, you need an oil-based product to take it off. I’m very low-maintenance, I just use wipes and Cetaphil.
On the other hand, what is the best makeup-related compliment you’ve ever received?
I like it when people tell me that my eye shadow is blended really well, or if my eyeliner is “on fleek” because this took me years of practice. I like it when people compliment the details because I see this as art, so, when I blend it really well it’s also an accomplishment for me.
